Capacity gain by Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) (Jan. 1999 - Dec. 2000)
Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Science Foundation)Summary:
Spatial reuse of frequencies by intelligent antenna systems is an efficient method to increase the capacity of cellular radio networks. In this project, methods from stochastics and optimization are used to investigate
- mobility and traffic models,
- channel allocation strategies taking account of SDMA,
- analytical performance evaluation of SDMA,
- adapted procedures for speed and location tracking of mobiles.
